March's meeting: March 4 at Hendricks County Airport, and chaired by Chapter President Dale Gustafson, with 20 members and 1 guest in attendance. General Discussion: Gus Gustafson, Dave Clark, Jim Winings and David Stucker talked about Ernie Winters and his memorial service. Tool Box Report: Both recipients dropped out of school but Troy Grover has a n employee who would be a good candidate President's Remarks: Tom Poberezny is now both president and chairman of the EAA board. More harping on the proposed TSA rule requiring security checks for passengers on private aircraft weighing 12,50 pounds and more. Regulations Reminder: FARs specify that if any law enforcement officer wants to see your pilots license you must show it. Treasurer's Report $1,925.93 in the account plus $69 to deposit, with hats and calendars for sale. New Business: All IA's will need to get their paper work in order and signed this month by the FAA. Indianapolis Airport Authority is holding an open house at Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville on March 24. The AOPA will host an aviation safety seminar on the east side of Indianapolis. Airparts will be sending Gus Gustafson about 20 catalogs to will be distributed free to chapter members. EAA Work Parties: Dave Clark announced the 2009 work party schedule. Young Eagles: David Stucker says his son is in Boy Scouts and needs to work on an Aviation merit badge. 50/50 Drawing: Paul Ruley won half of the $29 collected. Program: Scheduled presenter Bill Whitsitt became ill and had to cancel that the last minute. Troy Grover opened up his two hangars at Hendricks County Airport and showed two RV-6 aircraft in for annual Condition Inspections.

May's meeting: May 6 at Hendricks County Airport, chaired by Chapter President Dale Gustafson, with 18 members in attendance. President's Remarks: John Beetham was one of the six people honored by EAA as a director emeritus. Four, including Beetham, were unable to attend the ceremony. Gus also warned of the TSA to be in place when President Obama comes to Indianapolis. Vice President's Remarks: The TSA is starting to require IDs for anyone "inside the fence" at many airports. New Business: Mark Eminger reported on planning for the Chapter fly-out breakfast. The Ford Tri-Motor's visit has been moved to Indianapolis Metro Airport. Tool Box Report: Gary Reynolds needs to do a tool inventory. EAA Work Part Report: Dave Clarks says that two VAA work parties are left. Young Eagles Report: Young Eagles rally at Mount Comfort Airport on June 20; volunteers needed. Program: Glen Matejcek led the group in a hands-on tour of the American Military Heritage Foundation's Lockheed PV-2 Harpoon aircraft and their support facility.

August 2009
August's meeting: August 5 outside the Operations Building at Hendricks County Airport, and chaired by Chapter President Dale Gustafson, with 17 members and no guests in attendance. President's Remarks: The EAA had a small award to Paul Vogel for his weekend work party participation. Ford had a reception for chapter presidents, with lots of hors d'oeuvres and free gifts. Vice President's Remarks: Doug Hatfield commented that this year has been a crazy year for corporate flying. Lilly is flying the same amount of hours as last year but almost all of it has been domestic flight. Secretary's Report: Michael Mossman read the minutes from the July meeting, which were accepted without amendment. Treasurer's Report: $2,303.88 in account, plus a few funds to deposit. New Business: Dale Gustafson bought a video about hand propping an airplane. Fly-Ins announced: Noblesville has a breakfast on August 15; HCAA lunch that same day; Marion's Fly-In/Cruise-in is on September 5. 50/50 Drawing: Michael Mossman won half of the $20. After the 50/50 drawing, a drawing of the gifts brought back from Oshkosh by Dale Gustafson. The winners: Dave Helton (shirt), Vern Sullenger (shirt) and Jim Lewis (tote bag). Program: Roundtable debriefing of 2009 AirVenture.

Program: Sheryl Cole, who flew in the 2009 Women's Powder Puff Derby, was the featured speaker.

President's remarks: Gus commented on John Beethem's recent medical condition. Paul Vogel update: Paul Vogel's Sonex project 75% complete, and the family will need some assistance getting it completed or sold. Erika LeBaron update: Erika LeBaron suffered a rupture of a small blood vessel in her brain, but is expected to fully recover. Treasurer's Report: $2,089.89 in account, with all bills paid. Secretary's report: A reading of the October minutes was waived. Tool Box Report: The chapter would like to establish a third loaner tool kit in memory of Paul Vodel. Vice President's Report: Not given. Election Report: Chapter Secretary Michael Mossman conducted the election of 2010 officers and board members and announced the results. New Business: HCAA does not want to build a new mini barn. The chapter has calendars for sale. Project Update: Mark Rinehart bought a Rotax 582 engine needs help with its installation. Christmas Party: Jim Snyder reminded the members that the Chapter Christmas Party will be held in conjunction with the HCAA Party on December 2, 2009, at Primo West in Plainfield. 50/50: Not held. Program: DVD entitled "Safe Hand Propping" and commented on the development of the video.

January's meeting: January 7 at Hendricks County Airport, chaired by Chapter President Dale Gustafson, with 22 members and 2 guests in attendance. New Business: Rick Princell gave a recovery report following his aircraft accident. Gary Reynolds has old aviation publications from 1929 to WW-II stuff. Jim Snyder announced that a partially-built Fisher Skeeter is available. Dave Clark is moving his Tri-Pacer to Pam's Place airport. Gus Gustafson said that the chapter dues are staying at $15. President's Remarks: The new TSA rule is not directly in place yet but it will affect general aviation in corporate flying. Doc Swenson is 92 years old and is still flying his Ercoupe solo. At the Chapter 67 meeting the held a general discussion about getting young people interested in aviation. Dave Clark would like an "open house" to show young kids airplanes and should be able to coordinate it with Young Eagles. 50/50 Drawing: Bob Howard won half of the $40. Program: Skip Budny presented part 2 of his slide show on his experiences flying helicopters in Vietnam.

February's meeting: February 4 at Hendricks County Airport, chaired by Chapter President Dale Gustafson, with 18 members in attendance. New Members Introduced: Paul Berg and Jim Buist. New Regulations: English Proficiency endorsements required for anyone planning to fly outside of the United States. The U.S. government will no longer be monitoring the 121.5 signals as of Sunday, February 1, 2009. President's Remarks: An Indiana seaplane group wants to petition the DNR to allow airplanes to land on bodies of water in the state. Also, we need to stress the TSA issue, which is an attempt to require operators of private aircraft over a certain size to do the same security checks on their passengers that the airlines have to do. Treasurer's Report: With all funds deposited and expenses paid, the cash balance is $1,485.93. New Projects: Mike Laurenzano picked up with RANS S-19 kit. New Business: David Parker bought in two collages of photos of rare and antique airplanes. 50/50 Drawing: No drawing this month. Program: Following the business meeting the group went to Grov-Air.

April's meeting: April 1 at Hendricks County Airport, chaired by Chapter President Dale Gustafson, with 13 members and 4 guests. New Business: The Emingers will host another breakfast fly-out at Pam's Place this year. Dale Gustafson: Walt Fritz passed away this past week. President's Remarks: Dale Gustafson reports that the TSA problem is getting serious, with maverick agents checking pilots and passengers at small airports as people come and go. Treasurer's Report $2,077.93. 50/50 Drawing: Dave Clark won $19 and donated his prize to the chapter. Program: Brad Whitsitt of Xwind Crosswind Landing Simulation spoke about his simulator and about crosswind landings.

President's Remarks: Skip Budny saw a hail storm while working the Huey restoration projected at Indianapolis Metro Airport. Chapter 67 will be a sponsor of the Fort Tri-Motor tour. When Obama was in South Bend and Indianapolis, some pilots didn't know about the TFR and flew in violation of it. Young Eagles Report: Two Young Eagles events are planning for Saturday, June 20, at Hendricks County Airport and Mount Comfort Airport. Secretary's Report: Michael Mossman read the minutes from the May meeting, which were accepted without amendment. Treasurer's Report: Vern Sullenger reports the chapter has $2,220.78 in its account before the day's dues collections and 50/50 proceeds are deposited. 50/50 Drawing: Jim Snyder won half of the $32 collected and donated his winnings to the chapter. Project reports: Chuck Leucht reported that all he had left to do on his RV-9A project is get the paperwork complete for the FAA inspection. Skip Budny reported that his group is still working the H-model Huey, which will fly later this month. New Business: The controllers at Indianapolis International Airport are developing programs, which will be up to two hours long and can are presented in a town hall format to pilots underlying the Indianapolis Center's airspace. President's Remarks: The HCAA is looking to build a new mini barn and may want the chapter to partner with them. Vice President's Remarks: None given. Secretary's Report: None given. Treasurer's Report: $2,303.88 in account plus $54 in cash to deposit. Tool Box Report: Gary Reynolds reported that the second toolbox is in service at Vincennes University. Young Eagles Report: None given 50/50 Drawing: Mark Eminger won half of the $34 collected. Program: The planned program, which was a visit to Paul Vogel's Sonex project, was cancelled.
